CWA Local 1133 Committees                             

Mercy Hospital

Workload and Staffing.  RN Contact:  Kathy Kelly. Meets at 3 p.m. every other Thursday.  STC Contact:  Cheryl Darling.  Meets at 8 a.m. every other Thursday.  Purpose:  To address and resolve staffing issues, analyze staffing templates and acuity assessments, assess average daily census, patient safety, staff mix, use of agency/supplemental staff, hours of work, workloads, shift assignments, shift rotation on-call utilization and floating, patient care delivery models, facility characteristics, and financial resources.

Legislative/Political Committee.  Contact:  Terri Legierski.  Meets as needed for informational/instructional seminars/training, pickets, rallies, demonstrations, bus trips to Albany regarding legislative issues, and labor walks, etc.  Purpose:  To fight for change and justice, and to collectively express the voices of our members in politics and policy issues that affect their lives, such as safe staffing ratios.

Health and Safety Committee.  Contact:  Sharon Scime.  Meets fourth Thursday of each month.  Purpose:  Observance of all health and safety laws and regulations, maintenance of safe working conditions and a safe and healthful work environment.

 

Kenmore Mercy Hospital

Workload and Staffing / Nurse Practice / RN and TECH group.  Contact:  Rene Marriott and Andrea Nugent.  Meets June 17 and October 21, 2015.  Purpose:  To address issues such as, but not limited to, staffing ratios, methods of improving care, recruitment, and matters relative to clinical nursing. 

Health and Safety Committee:  Contact:  Jason Meder.  Purpose:  Observance of all health and safety laws and regulations, maintenance of safe working conditions and a safe and healthful work environment.
