Today the Union committee rejected the Company’s disappointing package proposal, in totality, which was presented to the Union last week.

We continued work on crafting improvements to the Appendices and Article 26 and passed proposals that reflect those improvements this evening.

The Company had no proposals for the Union today.

With the committee’s frustrations already at a high level, only to be exacerbated by the company’s package proposal that set all our previous negotiation sessions back to practically March 6th, the union committee decided to take a step away from the table for a few days.  Hopefully, by the time we return to the table, the Company will start acting like they really do want to reach an agreement that is fair to our deserving members.

Yesterday morning the Appendix G subcommittee met to continue discussing ways to improve the working conditions of the members covered under that appendix.

The full committee worked the rest of the day analyzing and working on counters to the company’s package proposal from April 19th.

Bargaining resumed this morning and resulted in tentative agreements being reached on Appendix A4 (Regional Joint Benefits Forum), Appendix A1 (Motor Vehicle Usage Program), Appendix A34 (Payment in Lieu of Vacation) and a letter regarding treatment of health care taxes.

The Union passed multiple proposals today, including, Article 5 (No Strike), Article 15 (Job Classifications and Promotions), Article 22 (Excused Work Days), Appendix A16 (Benefits), letters regarding Recall Procedures, VSIPP Opt-Out, and a Memorandum on Stabilized Employment.

This morning, the Company and Union met and reached a tentative agreement onAppendix A11(NonManagement Staffing Process).

The Company passed proposals on Article 8 (Collective Bargaining Procedures), Article 23 (Vacations) and Article 25 (Temporary Assignments). Tentative agreements were reached on these passes in the afternoon session.

After a long, exhausting, and disappointing day and night yesterday, the Union Committee was bolstered seeing all the pictures and videos of members participating in activities for the contract countdown.  Even though the contract expired without an agreement, it did make AT$T a little nervous seeing how much support you are giving this committee!
