On Thursday, May 30th, CWA Retirees attended an invite only event for U.S. Senate candidate Mark Kelly in which Congressman Ruben Gallego publicly endorsed his campaign.

On March 12th, Phoenix elected a new Mayor, Kate Gallego. When the AZ State Council endorsed Kate, the Retired Members Council Local 70003 got to work. 

CWA Local 70003 presented a check to Kate Gallego to help support her campaign for Phoenix Mayor. The funding for the check is from retiree voluntary contributions to CWA’s political action fund.

On Monday, February 4th, CWA Local 70003 President Saundra Cole met with Congressman O’Halleran at a breakfast roundtable with other local labor leaders. Congressman O’Halleran talked about the shutdown and what he expects will happen in the next few weeks.

2018 was a busy year for CWA Retirees in Arizona. Countless hours were spent making phone calls, stuffing envelopes, attending meetings and rallies. While not all of the endorsed candidates won, the chapter is proud to have supported candidates that share their values and ideology.

On Wednesday, December 18th, CWA Retired Members Council Local 70003 met with Phoenix Mayoral candidate Kate Gallego. Kate gave an update on her campaign and thanked the chapter for CWA’s recent endorsement. “It truly is an honor to be endorsed by CWA,” she said.
