Nokia Bargaining Report #53

March 14, 2019

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Company and Union Bargaining Teams met again today. The Company passed a “Comprehensive Best Offer” which, once again, included the Effects Agreement to eliminate the bargaining unit by December 31, 2019. In exchange for the elimination of the bargaining unit the company is willing to extend retiree healthcare to December 31, 2022. The Company “believes there is a path to an agreement, it may not be everything the CWA wants” but the Company believes their proposals treat our members fairly and will help them transition. The bargaining team made it clear that this does not come close to addressing our issues. We will keep fighting for a fair and equitable contract that meets our need for employment and retirement security.

As the Union carefully considers all aspects of the Company’s proposals, prepares for several upcoming litigations against Nokia and awaits the Company’s responses to our outstanding data requests we have tentatively scheduled our next bargaining session for April 9th.

One Day Longer. One Day Stronger. An Injury To One, Is An Injury To All. United We Stand.

Your Bargaining Team,

Mary Jo Reilly
Steve Amato
