Nokia Bargaining Report #58

July 16, 2019

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As previously reported the Company and Union Bargaining Teams were not scheduled to meet until the Union received information from the Company, that they had been withholding, and had time to review it.  Per the Settlement Agreement reached regarding the NLRB violations Nokia had until May 31st to provide that information.  CWA has reviewed the information Nokia has provided to date.  Yesterday the Bargaining Team and CWA’s Research Economists met with the Company’s finance team to ask questions, get clarification and provide further documentation so that we can do our own cost analysis.  We are scheduled to meet with the company again today.

We will NOT resume contract negotiations until the CWA Bargaining Team and Research Economists have completed our cost analysis and are prepared to present the company with proposals that we feel will address the company’s concerns of cost, flexibility and agility.

Once again, we are asking that we gear up our mobilization activities around the country.  It is critical that we have the support of both our active members as well as our retirees.  If you are an active employee please reach out to your local, if you haven’t already, to ensure they have your contact information.  If you are a retiree (or you know a retiree) please make sure you register with the CWA at www.cwa-union.org/nokiainfo so you can join us in our fight!

One Day Longer.  One Day Stronger.  An Injury To One, Is An Injury To All.  United We Stand.

Your Bargaining Team,

Mary Jo Reilly
