A Word on Vaccine Mandates

The Officers of CWA Local 4302 unanimously oppose employer-mandated vaccinations.  We strongly encourage all of our members and the citizens of our communities who are able to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to do so.

Our members, many with decades of dedicated service to their respective employers, have Collective Bargaining Agreements that have been negotiated in Good Faith.  Employers that wish to change the terms of these agreements must negotiate those changes.

Mandating vaccines is not only an un-negotiated changed to the terms of employment for our members, it is also an ultimatum.  Many of our members have health-related issues, ideological factors, family concerns, and a litany of other reasons they are either unable or unwilling to get vaccinated.  An employer telling any of these folks to get vaccinated or lose their jobs is entirely unacceptable.

Vaccine availability is on a walk-in basis at most pharmacies now and we urge anyone who has not yet been vaccinated to speak with their physician or another reputable medical professional to help them make this very personal decision.  We cannot make it for you, nor should your employer.
