OFFICIAL APPLICATION CWA LOCAL 4302
Dear Member,
The Communications Workers of America, Local 4302, will sponsor four (4) annual Scholarships, amounting to $1,000.00 each. A $1,000.00 scholarship will be awarded to the winner of the University of Akron Scholarship. For the Babe Shearer Memorial Scholarshipwe will have 1winner of $1,000.00. For the Memorial Scholarshipwe will have 2 winners of $1,000.00 each. The Scholarships will be awarded to active members in good standing of Local 4302, or their sons, daughters and children under their legal custody.
The Scholarships shall be titled:
1. "The CWA Local 4302 University of Akron Scholarship"Only those planning to attend the University of Akron should apply for this scholarship.
2. “The CWA Local 4302 Babe Shearer Memorial Scholarship” This is in memory of a Local 4303’s past President Babe Shearer and can be for any accredited school or institution.
3. "The CWA Local 4302 Memorial Scholarship" This is in memory of our deceased brothers and sisters and can be for any accredited school or institution.
Applicants can submit to any or all Scholarships; however there will be no duplicate winners.
Payment will be made directly to the school, college or university, toward his or her tuition or fees. All applications should be returned to the CWA Local 4302 Scholarship Committee by 5:00 P.M., on the second Thursday in May. The winners will be selected at the May Membership Meeting by a lottery drawing.
Please note that Section B of the attached form will be completed when the application is submitted.
